Tips for Keeping Your Bathroom Clean

Tips for Keeping Your Bathroom Clean

We all know how important it is to keep a clean home. A clean home is healthier and helps with mental health as well! One major tip for keeping your home clean is to clean if often. However, we don’t all have time to clean each room in our homes every day of the week. Scrubbies Clean LLC helps to take away some of that stress by offering residential cleaning services at affordable prices. We help to keep your home sparkling when you don’t have the time to. Over our many years of working as a home cleaning company, we have learned some tricks for bathroom cleaning that we love to share with our clients.

Whether you need to clean in-between your scheduled cleanings or don’t have a cleaning service at all, these tips can help your home’s bathrooms look their best.

Does your bathroom have an unpleasing odor coming from your trash can? Not sure how to get rid of the stench? Bathroom cleaning can seem like a hard task.

First, it’s important to make sure that your trashcan is changed frequently to prevent any items from extending their smell into your bathroom. Next, you want to confirm that the trashcan itself is clean both inside and out. Sometimes things may leak into the bottom of the can, and that can cause bad smells and also create germs and bacteria that can make you sick. Lastly, you should ensure that the area around the bottom and under the trashcan is clean and dry.

After you’ve gone through the necessary steps to preemptively stop smells, you can try to make your bathroom trashcan smell better. One great trick is to put some essential oil on a couple cotton balls and keep them at the bottom of your trashcan. This will help to overcome any bad smells that might arise before you clean the trashcan again.

Does your shower tend to have limescale buildup? Is there a ‘chalky’ residue that gets left behind after you shower?

Limescale, also known as calcium carbonate, can take a toll on your bathroom if you aren’t careful. First, it will leave ugly white colored stains everywhere. It’s also been known to form brown rings inside your toilet bowl and can even clog your shower head. Limescale looks horrible and can be very difficult to clean. Luckily, we have found a fairly easy homemade solution that can help between your regular cleanings. Try mixing together some white vinegar, a little bit of dish soap, and some lemon juice in a spray bottle. Spray this solution on your shower walls and doors or anywhere else there are limescale issues! Let it sit for a couple minutes and it should help to wipe away the buildup. For particularly tough stains such as a toilet bowl ring, let the solution sit overnight and then scrub in the morning.

Sound like a lot of work? We can help save you time and energy when you schedule a cleaning with Scrubbies Clean LLC.

When was the last time you cleaned the grout on your tile floors? Although mopping can help a little with stains and discoloration, we have seen a trick that can make your floor scrubbing even easier.

First, pour baking soda onto the grout area you want to scrub. Then pour some hydrogen peroxide over the baking soda. Word of caution, it will bubble up a little! Once some of the fizzing has gone down, grab your scrub brush and you can begin to start cleaning. This method should hopefully help reduce the amount of ‘elbow grease’ you put into scrubbing.
